I have prepared an ad for our national broadcaster (TVNZ). They require an mpeg2 file to play out. Video looks great (shot XDCam and edited in Apple ProRes 422 in FCP). However the clients logo is a box with white outline on a black background. Played on an HD televison the vertical edges look fine but on the CRT I get quite a bit of wavy distortion.

Is there a quick fix for this?

I guess it is the high contrast between the white and black that freaks the tv out.

The quick fix is a small amount of blur on the area that's giving you a problem. There's no set amount - it requires experimentation, but it usually works.

you can also see if your allowed to 'beef' up the thickness of the stroke itself on the logo. The plug in, among many that helps this, is the 'reduce interlace flicker' plug.
