I'm hoping to curve a layer in a similar fashion to this:

I don't want to copy the author's idea or take away from his creative efforts. But I've been trying to simply curve a solid towards the viewer, I've tried the Optics Compensation plugin and the CC Cylinder plugin, but they're not functioning as I would expect. I'm fairly new to After Effects so I have a feeling that the answer is right under my nose.

I'm wondering if the trick would be to use CC Cylinder and rotate the camera so that you're viewing the opposite side?

Thank you in advance for any help!

Look very carefully at that effect -- it's a bunch of 2D planes distributed in 3D space, creating the curvature. It was done with plain ol' painstaking work, no fancy effects or plugins.

I was afraid of that. I guess I'll just have to take the time to set it up properly...thank you very much for your quick response and insight!

Dave is right, however, you may want to check out this link on making a curved wall, or should I say, panorama wall.
