Hello Creative Professionals,

I brought a sequence into After Effects with a few Graphic Effects. One of which is a photoshop layer which was in Premiere and I added Red Giant Shine effect. It looks great in premiere.

When I bring into After Effects the effect seems to get cut off by the boarder of the Graphic Object's dimensions. So it's hard cut off that looks ridiculous. I hope I'm making sense. Any help would be appreciated. I have a very short turn around time.

Below Pictures for reference

Put the PSD into a nested comp, and make its dimensions much larger. Apply Shine to the nested comp.
An alternative: apply the Grow Bounds to the un-nested PSD. It may have to be the firsr effect in the stack; I forget.

Hi Dave I'm giving it a go and not having much success.

I created a new comp, added the psd File, resized it using the transform tool, then brought that composition into the working composition and I had no success.

Once I add the photoshop layer to a nested composition, do I make the dimensions of the psd file much higher or the dimensions of the AE comp?

I tried to add Grow Bounds to the PSD clip as well and it didn't help.

Let me know your thoughts,
Thanks!

Wrong way to do it.

Put your PSD in its own comp. Make this comp's horizontal & vertical dimensions much larger. An easy way is to open the comp settings, make sure the little chain-link icon is on, then just multiply one of the dimensions by... oh, four.

Put this comp into the main comp. Apply Shine. Happiness ensues.
