What is being done to make this look so good/different?

These are the intro credits to the show Dexter

On a few of the shots certain parts look really different. In particular when the egg is bubbling/frying in the frying pan it looks really vivid and different. How can I achieve this effect style?

It could be as simple as animating the Vibrance effect on a clip using Hold keyframes.

I don't see whatever it is that you're seeing.

The first step would be to DEFINE what it is you think is different. "Better" is not good enough-- more contrasty? more saturated? "Step-printed"? What, exactly?

Then you're on your way.

Composition. Lighting. Camera image quality. Color grading.

Amongst other things.
