Hello Guys. I am new to after effects and i have one question.
I am using the time remap on comp with a lot subcomps inside as well everything is ok. I freeze the comp to a current frame for 20'' secs. My problem is, is freezing and the video to i was put on one placeholder inside the composition.
How can i freeze the comp to that frame bat the video inside the placeholder continue play? Help.

Thank you very much for your time.

Without reworking everything I would duplicate the final comp, mask out the area that you want to play, and then move this layer in the time line to play when needed.

Mr. John Cuevas Thank you very much for your answer.
But there is styl the following problem. The placeholder has a slight movement throughout the course and the video start to play 8'' secs before the freezing to do what you say should enable the motion tracker bat i would like to play the video through the freeze placeholder.
Sorry about my english and thank you again.

Nikos.

[Nikos Nik] "I freeze the comp to a current frame for 20'' secs"

I find the time remap a bit cumbersome, so if I need a freeze frame, I render out the exact frame I want. Very good results and less cumbersome than the time remap stuff.

Having said that, here is a time remap expression. I can't remember who posted it, but I did not write it. I have a habit of saving cool expressions in an Expression.txt that I keep updated. I have not tried to use it as a still frame generator. To make it work, you need to create a null layer and two expression slider effects and pick whip to them. (EDIT) Then you can key frame n and m.

//TIME REMAPPING
n = thisComp.layer("Null 1").effect("n")("Slider"); // play every n frame
m = thisComp.layer("Null 1").effect("m")("Slider"); // play m times
f = timeToFrames();
p = Math.floor(f/m);
framesToTime(p*n);
