I want to import a formatted paragraph from Power point or keynote, or text program.
I'm on a mac.
When I copy the text and paste into a layer it becomes one long line running off the page. It takes a lot of time to turn it back into a paragraph. The same thing happens in Photoshop. Is there a work around?
I have a lot of slides to convert and would like it to just paste it like the original.
I'd like to keep the font style as well.

The paragraph is formed by the text wrap feature of the program and the constraints of the text box. AE doesn't have that feature for text. You need to add a paragraph/return at the end of each line in the original program, then copy and paste.

Could you just import the Powerpoint text as a photo, or do you need to manipulate the text in After Effects?

I do need to work with text. new backgrounds and eventually ad other languages.
I'm also adding motion effects to the text like "bullet train".
A friend suggested to draw a text box with the text tool in Photoshop and it turns out AFX can do the same. Under certain conditions I can copy and paste the power point text and it works.
I am still figuring out how that works, but it can be done.
