Using Ram Preview for Final Export

I'm busy with a huge render, and I'm looking for ways to speed up the process. (the previous time it took me roughly 24 hours to render everything out)
I've just received my SSD today, and I'm trying to incorporate it as best I can. I have assigned my disk cache to my external SSD, but how can I best use it to speed up my renders?
Before I continue, here is my system:
iMac 2012 edition.
Essentially I have two questions:
1. Is there a certain setting I need to use to access the disk cache function during the final export? Currently I'm exporting PNG-movie with audio.
2. I was also thinking that my RAM-preview uses the disk cache (could very well be wrong in this.) So if I can get the RAM-preview to render full-res animation or PNG, and then use the Save-RAM function, it should also save time on final render. I've set the RAM preview options to full, pixels to 1-to-1, but the final export is still jagged. Am I doing something wrong or is it simply not possible to do this?
