Here is the original:

Obviously a massive team worked on that sequence for probably months. I'm simply just looking to have a 15 second motion graphic that displays a few titles. I got the ball rolling by using Particle World to make the burning/sparking effect. Then 3D Stroke and keyframing a path's start and end, as well as the position of the path itself. But I can't really figure out how to make the particle emitter stick to the stroke's animated start point. The idea is to have the stroke basically disappear as the particle emitter "burns" through it.

Any ideas?

Yeah, here is a technique you can try:

If you have your mask path, copy it. Add a new layer - cc glue gun, in the time line open the effect until you see "Brush Position." past the mask path after selecting Brush Position, and key frames should be added into the time line. Then parent your emitter to the brush position of the glue gun and then turn off the glue gun layer so you don't see it.

Hopefully that does what you need.
