Using a transparent mask? How do I do this?

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to do a matte effect like in the following link below. Notice how the background in the bird is changing as it moves. How would I be able to do something like this? I am looking through the Luma key settings, etc, but I cannot find a solution.

To me it looks like the video layer(cloud background) is just using the bird as an alpha track matte.
