Hello (again),

In waiting for answers on another doubt I've posted (http://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/202/897728) I've another problem. My Stop Motion Project involves 7,000 pictures. After I've imported the images into the project, if I scroll down the list, at the half of the list, the list turns black...

last files shown into project window

..then, one page more down and no more files shown

The same happens on the timeline. I mean, if I import the same Stop Motion project created on Premiere Pro (correctly shown in Premiere) into AE, then the project filelist is shown as above and in addiction if I scroll down my image sequence on the timeline, at the same point black window. Why?

List on the middle of the composition (more or less)

Same list a page more down...

Are there a limit on number of objects?

Thank's for the help!!

Simon

I don't know about a limits on the number of objects in a project, but why aren't you importing your images by selecting the "JPEG Sequence" checkbox in the import dialogue?

Thank you for the fast answer.
Yes, this could be a solution. I've not used it 'cause I've never seen the option :)
I've now other more questions, but first I'll try this out and look if I can find the answers myself. In case I'll post questions back here.

Thank you!

..and now I've to understood how to do that: http://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/202/897728 :)

Thank's!!

What you've hit is not a limit in the number of images; rather, you've hit a bug: When the vertical space needed for a list (such as the stack of layers in the Timeline panel) is more than 30,000 pixels or so, the drawing of the layers in that list fails. That occurs at a bit less than 2,000 layers. The same thing can affect the Project panel if you have thousands of footage items there.

The content should still render fine, et cetera, but this bug makes it tough to work in the Timeline panel, of course. For now, the workaround is to divide things up (by precomposing) so that you don't have more than, say, 1,500 layers in any one composition.

Was thinking a bug too, but haven't much experience with AE, I preferred to ask here. Import those images as "JPEG Sequence" as suggested by John could solve. I'll try it this evening.

Thank's!

Simon
