Rendering a comp whilst keeping all clips separate
on Mar 15, 2013 at 2:19:13 am

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone could help me out... Is there a way to render a comp whilst keeping all the clips in said comp separate.

For example i have a 5 minute comp with about 60 different clips, i would like to be able to render all of these to apple pro res 422 for editing in another program, but have the 60 individual clips rather than one long 5 minutes one.

I cant for the life of me think of a way to do this besides the time consuming process of putting each one in its own comp and manually rendering each one.

Thank you in advance!

Greg

What are you doing to all these clips in AE, and how are you doing it?

AE's Render Settings & Output Module templates plus the Render Queue could be your saviors. You can create your own default Render Settings & Output Module templates. Then as you add comps to the AE Render Queue, they will use the defaults.

All the clips will be rendered to the folder you specify when you add the first comp. After that, add the remaining comps to the Render Queue, save the project, hit the Render button and go do something else while AE works.

I'm unaware if there is a script that will do what you seek. We may learn together on this matter.
