GPU render settings?
on Aug 29, 2012 at 6:06:14 pm

In After Effects 5.5 I thought there was a check box to enable GPU rendering under the render setting dialog in the render queue. I just recently got CS6 and I don't see anyway to enable GPU rendering in render settings. I want to compare rendering on the CPU vs. the GPU.

Does AE default to rendering with the GPU if it's capable? Are there any settings I'm missing to toggle GPU/CPU rendering or otherwise control that?

I think it may also be used in the viewer as "fast draft".

As to how it's controlled now in the output module, I'm not sure. OpenGL output was usually draft-quality only and not suitable for final output.
