I have built a fairly good couple of slideshows that I have put into a DVD .I know my way around Encore fairly well and love the programme. The trouble is that my menu design is not up to scratch and fairly basic.
What I want to do is to have a drawing of a small child ride his bike across the menu from one side to the other as the menu is being played before the two slideshows play..
I realise that this can be done in After Effects(CS5) but where to start?
I have CS5- does the animation have to have layers or can the drawing be just flattened?

Any help would be much appreciated- surely there must be a step by step tutorial of this out there somewhere?
Thanks in advance
