Alex Tsi2 little questions

Hey guys

I just discovered this forum and I am glad to be part of this community.

I started using after effects and I have 2 questions that I could not find solutions to online.

First one is when I import a photoshop file with the right dimensions the edges seem very pixelated. Specifically I did effects with a text file to make it look 3d the dimensions are 1920 by 1080 for high definition video. I checked the box for composition and merged all the layers so and I do not know what to do next.

Second question
When I try to work with a high definition file the more effects I add the slower it is to scrub through even if I set the preview to quarter. Is there a way to resize the file temporary without effecting the output in the end?

Thanks

Not sure about a solution to the problem in your first question. For the second one, replace the image with something smaller, then before rendering, replace it with your high res file.

How about video files?

Yes, you can work with a smaller "proxy" video then replace it with the larger version when you've done all of your effects and want to render out.
