Hi there!

Hope you guys can help a beginner. I'm trying to create a title where there's a line in the middle of the composition, and text moves out from behind that line on both sides.

I know the answer to how to do this is somewhere in the masks and maybe the pan behind tool, but I'm not sure which steps to take.

A good example of what I'm trying to do is in the title sequences of the White House's videos-how the stars come out from behind the seal...just this is text.

Any help would be great!

Create a solid layer and use it as a track matte for your text.
