Hi,
I have question for you that I just can't solve:
- I've got a precomposed video layer, I've scaled it down to about 40%, and rotated it in the y axis for some degrees. The problem is, that the edges of the video are really rough, pixelated, awkward, not a smooth straight line. The resolution is set to full, so that can't be the problem. How can I solve this? Thanks

oh, you need to NOT ONLY set it there, if the element is PreComped you´l need to go in the precomp and set it direkt on the footage as well!!!

hope that helps

Thanks, but it didn't help. I'll try some blur.

A few shots in the dark:
- Have you somehow turned off the anti-aliasing switch? (Try rendering with "Best Settings" (or is it "Best Quality"?) and if the problem goes away, this might be it.

- Are you viewing it at full-size? Maybe it's 1080 and you're viewing at 33% or something...

- Are you using the "Transform" effect instead of the standard transform features? (The Transform effect does introduce some jagged lines when rotating, I've noticed)

Hi,
I was at 37.5%, I've set it to 100%, it got better, but still not perfectly smooth.

Where can I turn on/off the antialiasing switch?

Thanks.

It's in the switches for each layer:

You want the jagged line to be smooth, like this:

(This second is the default, by the way, but there's a chance you accidentally toggled it....)

You can also try applying a slight blur to the jagged object. I'd use the Fast Blur filter, maybe set to 0.5 or something. In fact, a slight blur + a little grain can help "smooth" out a lot of things!

Are you working in a comp that is not using square pixels? Do you have the pixel aspect ratio correction switch turned on?
If you answered "yes" to both of those questions, it's possibly due to the pixel aspect ratio correction in your preview. Once you render it, it should look fine.
