I want to cut out an object from footage but have the matching background after i cut it out( i want to cut out a letterbox but then have what is behind the letter box that the camera can't see in its place). Would i have to take a still picture and track it in from a different angle or would i have to take out the letterbox from the ground and use a still image from the same angle. (if you have a simpler way then please share).
When you say letterbox, what do you mean? When the word is used in regards to video I think about letterboxing vs. pillarboxing. Where one crops images to fit into certain aspect ratios.
Anyway, it SOUNDS like you're talking about object removal. Basically, you will need to have an image (doesn't matter how you get it) that fills in the information you want. There are quite a few tutorials for object removal that should help.
