Masking

Okay I'm an amateur at ae and just wondering about masking. I can do masking but If I make a moving object and change the position and make a mask, the mask just follows the object and does not stay glued to the track.
Help :( Please

The toughest time people have with masking is using the Pen Tool:

If you've got that down, you can animate you mask by creating keyframes in the Mask Path property:

I didn't understand any of it :(
Can you please explain in more simple terms how to stick the mask down on the footage whilst the picture I'm masking can still move?

Sorry, but that's about as basic as it gets. If you didn't understand it, you desperately need to begin at the beginning:

If you can afford to pay for some training, this following costs about as much as a video game, and it's great stuff:

Found out how to do it. Just create a solid with the mask on and put the layer beneath to alpha layer inverted. :D
Thanks everyone
