Here's my problem. I have to mov files and both files were created at different frames rates. I have to make one continuous looping video with the mov files. When I put the footage together in After Effects one of the clips is still doubling the frame rate. I tried "conforming to frame rate" having both files at the same rate 23.976 and also making the composition's frame rate to 23.976. The footage is still doubling the frame rate.
I have never, EVER heard of the situation you describe taking place within AE.
I have no idea what the phrase, "The footage is still doubling the frame rate." means in plain English.
What are the precise frame rates of the footage in question?
What happens if you separately drag each clip onto the Make Comp icon at the bottom of the project window? What are the frame rates of these newly-created comps when you look at the comp settings? Do they match the frame rates of the clips from which they weere created??
What are the codecs of these two clips? (Hint: "mov" and "avi" are not codecs, they describe the media containers of the footage)
What version of AE are you using?
And are you trying to use AE intuitively?
Seemingly unrelated questions, all important in making a diagnosis of the situation........
