Viewing Effect Changes in real time
on Mar 28, 2011 at 7:19:51 pm

Pretty basic question. I'm adding an effect to a clip and adjusting parameters. In motion I can hold my mouse click down and adjust a parameter and see the effect change in real time.

In AE I've applied the CC Light Rays effect. I click and hold down intensity and change the setting. Is there a setting within after effects where I can see the change happen in real time without having to let go at each point to see the change update?

You should be able to scrub the parameter, depending on your graphic card will determine how quick it updates.

In your composition window make sure the live update button in pressed. 2nd one from the left above the timeline.

Thanks for your response John. I see what I was doing wrong. It reads, hold down the option key to see your changes in real time.
