I have a clip of footage in premiere Pro that is 45 seconds long.

I would like to take only that clip into after effects to do some motion tracking on it. I can not figure out how to take only that one clip and pull it into after effects to do this.

I don't work with Premiere, but I believe your answer is Dynamic Link.

Maybe I am doing something wrong. I went to dynamic link and opened up a new AE comp. However, I still cannot get the one clip into the comp.

Have you tried googling for tutorials?

I found these:

Hi there,

Right-click on the clip in the Premiere Pro Timeline and choose Dynamic Link > New After Effects Composition. This will create a comp with the clip in it. It will appear as a nested comp containing the source footage.

Hope this helps,

cheers,

Angie
