Well, I'm trying to animate my lightning, but whenever I try and mask it, the mask doesn't apply to the lightning. I've searched around and everyone says: MASKS, EFFECTS, TRANSFORMATIONS (in that order). I tried that and it didn't work for me.

So, I pose the question: How do you mask lightning?

For anyone reading the thread who wants to know what the answer was;

Precompose the Effect into a nested comp then mask the nested comp.
