Last week i started making a (frag)movie for my benelux community (incline.eu) together with a friend. What i want to do is, i've got 6 of my guys running across a map of the game, now, on the beat of a song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUFVeXi8hrk) there is a car exploding in-game, and i want to edit the footage like that so that it looks like the buildings explode from the inside (Which i do with pre-stocked explosions from video copilot) but the problem is, if i add the fire to the footage it goes over everything ofcourse, but i need it to be behind some poles, should i do that with a mask and motion track it? Or does anyone have an idea how to get it to work with a different way of working?
I need the fire to be 'behind the pole', the pole moves as the camera follows one of the players running over the street. Can i make a mask and get it to track down the pole? I think that would be difficult as the pole moves and gets a little smaller as well by the seconds, so the mask would have to scale down as well.
Thanks alot! I'm working on it now, though i'm getting another problem, after about 20 frames, everytime i move along another frame, i'm getting a result as this: http://www.teamdzire.com/prob2.png
When i try to get it right again it just either pops out too far, just doesn't do anything, or it increases (like it should) on the side i drew but it does more like the opposite on the other side, and when there pops too much, i try to draw the background with ALT+Drag but then it goes back to the too small part... Is there any way to get it to respond better the way it should?
