If you have one Comp that is using Square Pixels, and embed it in a comp that is using non-square pixels, do you HAVE to add a scaling factor to retain the embedded Comp's aspect ratio, i.e. a circle remains a circle?

I kinda thought that would be done automagically.

Is the compensating scale the reciprocal of the new comp's PAR? EG, a 1.2>> 0.83333 ?

It IS done automatically. You simply have to get used to using the Pixel Aspect Ratio Compensation Toggle Switch -- now, there's a mouthful -- located at the bottom of the comp window. When it shows the comp in the proper PAR, it may look aliased, but it circles will look circular and everything renders nice 'n smoothly.

I should probably add that if you need a circle within a nested comp -- and it needs to remain circular if you rotate the nested comp -- both the nested comp and circle layer within it need to be made in square pixels.
