Hello! Hope you are all having a great day! I am looking for suggestions on what the best preset would be for an animation I am creating in AE. I don't know if I should use HDTV or NTSC DV widescreen. This will be put out on the internet and YouTube so it'll be in h.264 when I render out. Any suggestions though on the best format to create this? Thanks!

Will you be using any footage? If so, I recommend using it's native settings.

If only animation, then it's a bit more open. I'd probably go with the preset: "DVCPRO HD 720 29.97" That way if you ever do need to use it for something else, you're ready.

I'm curious if anyone else has other recommendations...

Not to be disrespectful, but how much experience do you have working in After Effects?

This is NOT the kind of application that lets the novice user jump into the deep end of the pool. It's one of those "learn to walk before you run" types of applications. If you try a quick start you'll only wind up confused and frustrated, and that would be a shame.

So here's a very good place to learn to walk:
