I 'should' know this, but I'm really scratching my head on this one...

Does After Effects export everything as Progressive footage?
...Even if there is an interlaced asset in a comp?

Thanks,
Clint

Are you REALLY exporting?

Don't do it any more! RENDER using AE's Render Queue! The only time you Export is when you have no other choice for file creation!

End of sermon.

No, it does not. When you place a comp in AE's Render Queue, you can open up the Render Settings. There you will find a setting for field order: Upper first, lower first or none. Pick the setting appropriate for your footage.

And if you're not used to using the Render Queue, know that you can create custom settings for a whole bunch of situations, and you can pick default settings. Just search for the term "Render Queue" in AE's online Help.

haha, thanks Dave,

I am using the Render Queue actually... I'm exporting my Comp as AVI - Lagarith Lossless codec ready for HC Encoder.

I was just wondering because usually HC can tell and has the Interlaced or Progressive button correctly set.

Thanks
