I have a Mac Pro dual quad core, 16GB ram, Nvidia quadro 4800 fx, and an internal raid that moves at about 350MBs.

I can't get real time ram previews from HD or SD. I have the same machine at work minus 6GB of ram and the Qurdro. And I have no problems with real time play back on my ram previews

Thanks for any input... and the quadro is up to date on the drivers.

dan.

First thought: I think the rest of the system isn't getting enough RAM.

So go into multiprocessing settings. Reserve 2GB for OS & open apps. Reduce number of cores for multiprocessing by 2. See what happens.

If you are using something like a Blackmagic card for output to a preview monitor.. and your Blackmagic output is set to SD/29.97 for instance but your comp is HD/23.976... you can get this problem as well.

Thanks for the input matt, but that didn't help I have a kona 3 card. But I'm not using it for playback. It's fully updated and I'm running it 64bit mode on the machine. (But I did make sure in the aja control panel I'm matching my comp settings just encase)

I've given my OS more memory to work with, I have disabled openGL.... I'm kind of at a loses????

Thanks again for all of the help...
dan.
