edit video & audio question

Hi everyone, l would like to know:

(1) Can AE CS3 split video & audio separated like premiere pro? so l can edit the audio separated.
(2) How to edit audio keyframe from beginning (sound in) to the end (sound out: lower sound) is easy to do in premiere pro,but in AF...
(3) Can AF cs3 view the video & audio together in timeline without view in ram preview or press number kyepad "." when l press "." it can only come out with audio, the video is not moving.

Most people don't edit audio in AE. It's really not built for it. However, if a layer does have audio, you can keyframe it. Just twirl down the layer properties and then its audio properties and keyframe the audio level. This page talks a bit about that.
If you want one layer to just be audio and another layer to just be video, duplicate the layer and turn the audio off on one and the video off on the other.
Again, I do NOT recommend using AE to edit audio.
No, there is no way to view video and audio together without RAM previewing. AE is a compositing and motion graphics application, NOT an editing program.
