Is it true that After Effects does not handle DV natively?
Does this mean that any DV footage will show obvious degradation upon output? I am noticing this when re importing into my NLE (Grass Valley Canopus) and comparing original DV footage side by side with AE. I have tried various forms of export but no matter what the AE DV processed footage looks less sharp along with some slight motion issues.

Is there any way around this?

[Merrick Bahar] "Is it true that After Effects does not handle DV natively? "

That is incorrect. AE has troubles with HDV, not DV.

Not if you render in a lossless or uncompressed codec.

Are you interpreting the footage and rendering in the proper field order?
