Hey guys,

I just worked on an after effects project that has taken me weeks to finish but unfortunately there is a large 10 second gap in the middle of my timeline. I'm afraid that by shifting everything to the left to fix it will cause other layers in my timeline to go out of wack.

Is there a way I can just trim out a section of my timeline, where it continues on without having to shift all my layers and keyframes, hoping to god nothing happens to them?

Place your offending comp in a new comp and trim it there.

After you nest your composition, as Michael suggested, you can use Extract Work Area on the new precomposition layer to do a ripple delete.
