on Mar 6, 2010 at 10:57:09 am

I'm looking for a plug-in that makes round blurry (orange) colors on the edges and highlight for fast effect/transition. I wish it exist in a plug-in...
If you don't know what I'm looking for, can you tell me then what are your best professional look transition/effects in a plug-in/preset, Thank you.

Do you mean something like this?

In fact it's a 35mm camera starting and stopping effect, do you know if it exists in a plug-in ??

Thank you for your help :)

I can't see the vimeo link because of the Army security wall behind which I work, but perhaps you mean more like this?

Both of the tutorials I linked you to will achieve the effect for which you're looking. Or you can actually get some film flash footage (Artbeats has a nice collection of film clutter) and put it over your footage with different blending modes 'til you find one you like. This sort of effect was extremely popular a number of years ago so you can do a search for light leaks or film burn and you'll find tons of information on it.

This transition hearkens back to a day when the ends of film would sometimes get damaged or exposed to light so if it wasn't edited well (or they just didn't have enough tail on a shot) the picture would blow out during transitions. So it's a rather specific effect, but these days you can do whatever you want. You don't have to stick with the conventional orangey blur. You can use whatever colors, textures, etc. that you want.
