Basic Hard Drive Question
by Adam Alphin on Jan 11, 2010 at 5:51:29 pm
I have a Quad-Core duel processor mac running 10.5.8. I just got two 1 tb hard drives to add extra storage. Would it be better to keep them as individual volumes or RAID them as one? What are the advantages or disadvantages of doing it either way?

If you don't mind the probability of losing everything on both discs if one disc goes bad, you could RAID them for greater bitrates when playing back. If you can't afford to lose everything on both discs, don't.
