How come there is no way to animate the hue control? I don't see the stopwatch. Is there another way to do this?
Thanks in advance.

You mean the Hue/Saturation Effect? Open up the effect window and find the stopwatch. Click it. Done. It's one of those effects, similar to Levels where a lot of adjustments end up being just one property.

Taking a step back here:

Since you said that you're new, I figured that you wouldn't mind if I went back to basics.

Each layer has properties. Most properties have stopwatches, which means that you can animate them. You add additional properties to a layer in a few ways, including by applying effects. To add a hue property to a layer, you can add the Hue/Saturation effect.

There's some more basic information on this page and the pages that it points to.

I'm not really new. It was just a nooby question.
The hue control in the Hue/Saturation effect has no way to animate it because it doesn't have a stopwatch thingy. What is the normal workaround? I forgot.

Thanks in advance.
Ian.

There is no animation stopwatch for the Master Hue control in the Hue/Saturation effect. What is the normal workaround?

Thanks in advance!

So the "Color Range" stopwatch controls the Hue, Saturation and Lightness??

Check the colorize checkmark and there are individuals controls for Hue,saturation and lightness.

Yup. Check out the Levels effect: you'll find that there's just one keyframeable property in it as well, controlling all the adjustments.

Probably the best solution for key-framing hue (and other color properties) will be through the SA Color Finesse plug-in. It's included in the plug-in package for CS3 and CS4.

There are a couple of posts in the Synthetic Aperture forum on the Cow regarding removing the water mark. There should be a separate serial sticker for SA Color Finesse on the box your AE came in. If it's not there (apparently some boxes went out without the extra sticker), you can get it by contacting Adobe.

Hope this helps.

Bob

There is a COLOR BALANCE (HLS) effect. You're gonna find it
