Making an expression to link the value of One effect with that of another?

Hi there,

First time poster but long time user of CreativeCow.

I'm looking for an expression to link the Value of a Fast Blur with the value of the 'Brush Size' on the Stroke Effect. For example I have animated the brush size of my stroke over time from 200 - 0 - back to 200. I would like the max value of the blur to be 50 (when the brush size is 200), and then to decrease as the stroke size does.

Thanks!

Ash

For Fast Blur Blurriness:
linear(effect("Stroke")("Brush Size"),0,200,0,50)

That is, if the effects are on the same layer. Also, in that case, you'll want to adjust the Stroke spacing down to something like 1% to make the result look smooth.

If the Fast Blur is on a different layer, you would pick whip the Brush Size from a different layer to replace "effect("Stroke")("Brush Size")" or add the layer reference in this fashion:

linear(thisComp.layer("The Other Layer Name Here").effect("Stroke")("Brush Size"),0,200,0,50)
