Creating an animated deformed mesh - how???

Hey there,

I have to make an animation of the space time, using a deformed mesh and planets in 3d space. Please see the links below to get an idea.
I´m working with after effects and have tried freeform Pro and trapcode Mir but I don´t know how...

Can anyone give me an idea?

FreeForm Pro is quite easy to use for that. You can generate the grid in AE on a Layer you use for texture or choose to render the mesh from FF Pro.
You need the to choose as displacement map a precomp that has the same size as the layer you displace (mesh. Inside the precomp you need to create a animation of shapes in shades of gray that you can use for displacement. Radio Waves with blur for example can generate ripples:
