Hi,

Just joined the CC community so be gentle! ;)

I've got a Particular problem where I have a number of AE Lights being used to create sweeping trails through my comp. As the camera moves through the scene, various lights sweep across the camera similar to the Tron Cycle.

The problem is that all the lights start emitting particles at Frame 0, so there are weird cloud of particles in the distance (from the lights that will move later in the animation) that are chewing up my render.

Ideally I'd like to keep using a single emitter rather than a new one for each light trail so just wondering if anyone else has come up against something like this?

Thanks in advance! :)

[Phill Buckland] "The problem is that all the lights start emitting particles at Frame 0, so there are weird cloud of particles in the distance (from the lights that will move later in the animation) that are chewing up my render."

With Particular, you can keyframe each light's Intensity property to govern its emission of particles. If you set the intensity down to 0, no particles will be born.
