Apply motion track to mask position?
on Apr 17, 2016 at 6:13:53 pm

I'm not a big user of AE so pardon me if this is a stupid question. I have AE5.5 and need to apply a motion track to a mask. I've done the track just can't puzzle out how to apply to the mask's position.

Many thanks for help,

Alan

You cant. But if you need the entire mask to move as one, why don't you copy/paste it to a solid, then apply the track info to that solid and use it as a matte?

Copy & paste the mask to a solid. Make sure it matches the dimensions & pixel aspect ratio of the masked layer. Apply the mask track to a null. Parent the masked solid to the null and use it as a track matte.
