I created some reference files in Avid MC 8 at home on my iMac.

When I bring the project to work, I am unable to reconnect the files.

Previously imported ref files show as missing, although I am on

same AE and Avid versions in both locations, obviously with same external drives.

When I use Replace File, AE crashes.

I have found re-exporting the ref files from Avid usually fixes

the issue. But it is time consuming and I am guessing should not be necessary.

Thoughts...?

I just answered an almost-identical issue on the Adobe forum.

Yeah, well, try the AAF export from Avid, import into AE, save the AE project, and see if the pointers survive the trip to work. But remember -- you can not change the location of one single file! Change nothing! If you do, you scotch the deal!
