Animating Graphic Images in a Circle

I have some PNG images I need to arrange around a circle, then rotate the circle of objects.

I have been creating a circle mask/path using the ellipse tool. But getting the objects to snap to that circular path is the rub.
The tutorials I have found online seem to all use the pen tool to draw a path freeform. I need a perfect circle.

What is the best/easiest way to do this, thanks!

In 3D space or in 2D flat on screen?

You can trace a perfect circle with the path tool if its 2D.

2d, thanks.
How do you trace that perfect circle with that tool?
Using elipse to create a mask is what I tried, but no go.

Place your PNG's all in the same position at the proper distance of the desired point of rotation, scale them until they're sight, and place a null at the center of the rotation.

Parent the first PNG to the null, and rotate the null the desired amount. Parent the second PNG to the null, and rotate the null again. Repeat this process until you're done.

To counteract a PNG being stuck in its original rotation, enable an expression in its rotation property, pick-whip to the null's rotation property, and multiply the whole thing by -1.
