I have a character rig that I want to reuse in multiple comps. The layers of the character are created in Ai and imported.
I would like to be able to quickly replace the layers associated with the rig with revised layers to create other characters.
If I replace the entire rigged comp with a new comp containing the new character layers, I of course lose the rigging.
The only way I know to replace the layers while keeping their parenting, etc, is to do it individually with alt+drag. But each character has ~60 layers, so this gets cumbersome, especially if many characters are needed.
Is there a way to replace a whole group of layers while still maintaining their key framing/parenting, etc? (The layer names in Ai would be consistent across characters - i.e., "RightForearm" would always be "RightForearm")
This would allow me to have a library of animations and a library of characters which could then be quickly mixed and matched as needed.
