using CC sphere to assist with an iron man style hud

hi everyone i have a question - i saw a tutorial a short while back with CCsphere and it was using a lookat expression to point it to the active camera
i have animated a scene in maya and i have exported out the camera data. I also exported out a null that was parent constrained to my characters head as he moves - the aim is to 'pin' my hud gfx setup to this animated null - it works reall well and i have a heap of animated widgets in separate nested comps... but i would also like to be able to get CCsphere to work in a similar manner for a couple of other details
so can i 'pin' the CC sphere to this animated null and get it to rotate in the same way my characters head does - as if he's wearing a big glass bubble helmet lol!
