You would need to precompose your 3d text and apply shatter to the precomp.
It won't look good though. You'll lose all the refractive qualities you were just enjoying. Now, you could use normal AE tricks to fake the glass look (using CC Glass, for example) on a shattering layer and skip the ray-traced renderer entirely.
If you have CC, a better solution might be to create your text in Cinema 4d (
which comes free with AE) and do the work there.
