How to accurately divide composition into 6 parts.
on Dec 7, 2015 at 6:21:55 pm

Hi, I have a super huge composition (7680x610) for a huge screen 63meterx5meters. I need to split them into 6 panels, 1280x610 each. Is there a way to accurately divide them? If it's 3 panels, I can use the align tool to easily position them, but can't think of a good method for 6 panels.

[Fong Wai] "Is there a way to accurately divide them?"

Sure: math.

Are you creating six 1280x610 comps from your original 7680x610 master comp? In the first one, set the position to [0,0] and the anchor point to [0,0]. In the second one, set the position to [0,0] and the anchor point to [1280*1,0]. In the third one, set the position to [0,0] and the anchor point to [1280*2,0]. In the fourth one, set the position to [0,0] and the anchor point to [1280*3,0], and so on. Each time, you offset the anchor point by an additional 1280.

If you're doing it with output modules, use the crop feature in a series of outputs like this:

COMP 1 Top:0, Left:0, Bottom:0, Right:6400
COMP 2 Top:0, Left:1280, Bottom:0, Right:5120
COMP 3 Top:0, Left:2560, Bottom:0, Right:3840
COMP 4 Top:0, Left:3840, Bottom:0, Right:2560
COMP 5 Top:0, Left:5420, Bottom:0, Right:1280
COMP 6 Top:0, Left:6400, Bottom:0, Right:0

Each time, you take a 1280px slice out of the whole comp, advancing it in 1280px chunks.
