Particular for beam effect
on Nov 24, 2015 at 9:24:38 pm

Can I use particular plugin for AE to make a weapon beam?
The origin of the beam and the target that beam is hitting are moving.
I tried to make it with light as emitter, but it seems I do something wrong.
Is there a way to make particles from place 1 go in the straight line to place 2 and when reach place 2 to dissolve?
Any suggestion is welcomed... thanks

I'd rather use Optical Flares by Video Copilot ,you can make alot of weird and creative stuff with it :)

Possibly... But I would still like to know if I can make it with particular cause I need the particles to go from one point to the other. I don't know how I can make particles with optical flares.

Well, you could always use the Beam effect in AE....

Thats a good idea. Thanks. Beam points can be animated. Is there a way to use beam effect as path for emitted particles?

Use Particular's motion path [link] feature.

Thanks for help... this technique is close to what I need... but still not exactly what I need...

particles need to move in straight line from A to B and A and B are constantly changing position. Like, particles will make a line of particles between these two points, moving from A to B and dying when reach B.

Anyway, thanks for advice... seems particular is not the best way to achieve this effect... kinda have to be done is some 3d program.
