CGTOOLS is the third incarnation of a project that started almost 5 years ago as XPresso Preset Shop, a website where Cinema 4D users could share their Xpresso presets for free or for sale. Not long after that the shop was relaunched as C4D Tools, allowing also for plugins, scripts etc. to be offered through the website. Now it's time for the next logical and often requested step: Starting 2016, we will open our platform to developers of all software packages. All includes Adobe After Effects ;)
Here are some of the developer account features:
- add & edit your product pages
- schedule discounts
- track sales & payouts
- send notifications to customers
- more coming soon (e.g. promo links)
Here are the key terms:
- 70% is yours (for 5% more keep reading).
- No exclusivity clause. Sell with us, sell yourself, sell anywhere.
- Products can be free ( ) or have to start at a minimum price of $4.99.
- Payouts via PayPal (other options coming in the future).
We also have a special deal for you: If you register an Early Developer Access account and add products prior to the launch on January 1st, 2016, all your non-free products will get an additional 5% lifetime bonus share, making it a total of 75%, forever. Don't have a tool right now? No problem. You can still sign up, make yourself familiar with the developer backend and maybe even give us some feedback. That would be lovely :)
So that's it! As the launch date draws closer we hope to welcome some developers on cgtools.com.
If you have questions feel free to contact us.

This looks interesting. We need more competition in the market space. I'll certainly sign up. As an aside, CGTools already has a page on FB. Direct Marketing via FB tools or Shares is quite useful. I'm wondering if you'll look at an alternative name - CG Extensions, CG AddOns so that it'll be easier for you on FB.
these days it's almost impossible to find a name that is not yet in use. We have considered all the mentioned options and decided to go with the most simple one. We bought the domain and tried to get the Social Media usernames, as well, but without luck. So, for both Twitter and Facebook we use "cgtoolscom".
