How do I do the ken burns effect in After Effects?
by Ryan Bob on Oct 22, 2015 at 11:40:47 pm
I'm trying to do the ken burns effect on a few images I have. I make a new camera, parent it to the image, zoom in, and nothing happens. I tried making a null object and parenting the camera to that as well, and nothing happened as well. Everything is a 3D layer.
Could someone please tell me how to do the effect?

You don't need 3D to do Ken Burns -- you can animate anchor point and scale in 2D.
If you want to do it in 3D, make sure that the your viewer is set to Active Camera. No need to relate the image and camera with parenting. (In fact, making the image a child of the camera will yield no motion.)
