Hey everyone, new challenge for you today!

I have a function in another program (TVPaint), which I am looking to re-create in After Effects.

I have a frame with a single image on it (multiple images on an alpha channel). I wish to shrink the frame, but as I do I would like to have the outside edges of the frame continue to repeat the frame, thereby filling the frame exponentially with the same image, sort of a "drowning" effect.

Sort of have it drawn out here.

What do you think is the best way to go about something like that? Ideally I'd like to be able to play with it since the actual object is oddly shaped, meaning that it will take some trial and error to get the spacing correct.

Motion Tile or CC RepeTile to repeat. Precomp the object and adjust it within the comp to get edge spacing right.
