I am working on a project that requires me to use this style:

I whipped that up in AE quickly but it was achieved by nesting the 3d layer (just an extruded shape) in a precomp and applying stroke to that - this is not going to be viable as the project features rotating cameras needs to be easily adapted - the precomp would not allow for this without having to keep going back into it and redoing every alteration.

Does anybody know of a way for me to achieve this stroke effect without using a precomp?

Also, just on the off chance anybody know how to get ray tracing working on 980 TI? I've heard it's impossible but that would speed things along considerably.
Thanks in advance

So i've tinkered with C4D Lite a bit and pretty much it allows me to do all of this!
