Hello! First time poster, long time lurker. Was wondering if anyone can help me as Google seems to have failed me...

I'm creating a singstar / karaoke type animation where a null moves along a path showing the pitch of the melody line of a song. I've managed to animate the null from a midi track using this great plugin (http://omino.com/pixelblog/2011/12/26/ae-hello-again-midi/), however I now need to somehow create the line that the null travels along from the same data.

I've used an expression to attach the position of the null to the slider value of the imported midi track, and basically I was to make a path that looks like the graph editor but in Illustrator so I can edit the look of it.

Or if anyone has a better idea I'd love some help...

Here's an image - if i'm not making myself clear please say - http://i.imgur.com/sRAtTHe.png

Cheers!

1. Select the null's position keyframes and copy them (Cmd or ctrl +C).

2. Make a new solid layer and make a mask consisting of a single vertex with the pen tool

3. Reveal the Mask and select the Mask Path then paste, this should create a mask with the same path as the null's position.

4. Select the Mask Path and copy (Cmd or ctrl +C).

5. Open a new Illustrator document and paste.
