Hi Guys,

I'm trying to motion track a bubble in After Effects but the results aren't looking the greatest. It keeps resulting in a jittery track or completely off track. I'm using the motion track to then add opening credits to a film.

This is the footage I'm trying to use:

Any help is greatly appreciated.

The reason you aren't getting a quality result is because the after effects motion tracker users high contrast luma/color information to maintain a point. There just isn't enough contrast between the bubble and the background to provide a point for the tracker to track. What's more, the contrast points that are there are from the lighting in the environment, which will change on the bubble as it moves around. You're best bet is to use a planar tracker in mocha or to track it by hand.
